GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality

  • GLMA is a national organization committed to ensuring health equity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and all sexual and gender minority (SGM) individuals, and equality for LGBTQ/SGM health professionals in their work and learning environments. To achieve this mission, GLMA utilizes the scientific expertise of its diverse multidisciplinary membership to inform and drive advocacy, education, and research.

American Academy of Physician Associates 

  • American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) is the national professional organization that represents Physician Associates (PAs) across the United States. AAPA advocates for PA practice autonomy and patient access to care, sets professional standards, and advances the PA profession through leadership development, education, research, and policy engagement. It also supports PAs and PA students with continuing medical education (CME), resources, networking opportunities, and a unified voice in federal and state health policy.

Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Professional Learning Communities

  • PAEA has a special interest group entitled Sexual and Gender Minorities/LGBTQ+ Health. This special interest group is a forum for PA educators to meet and exchange ideas and information regarding gender & sexual minorities in PA education, PA practice, and healthcare. Group members have varied interests and expertise in policy issues, research, faculty development, and curricular inclusion related to LGBTQ+ topics. Human Rights Campaign 

  • The National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center provides educational programs, resources, and consultation to health care organizations with the goal of optimizing quality, cost-effective health care for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and all sexual and gender minority (LGBTQIA+) people.

World Professional Association For Transgender Health

WPATH is an international, multidisciplinary professional organization dedicated to promoting evidence-based, ethical healthcare for transgender and gender-diverse people. Founded in 1979, it brings together clinicians, researchers, mental health professionals, and advocates from around the world.

The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project is a national nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ young people. Founded in 1998, it provides 24/7 confidential support through phone, text, and chat services, along with educational resources for youth, families, and educators. In addition to direct crisis services, The Trevor Project conducts research on LGBTQ+ youth mental health and advocates for policies that promote safety, inclusion, and well-being.

The LBGT PA Caucus is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
