The LBGT PA Caucus has the following committees:

  • Conference Planning - Co-Chairs: Victoria Ho & Shani Wilson
    • Coordinate logistics, staff, plan, and decorate the exhibit booth, Caucus social events, annual Business meeting, and Health Equity and Student Reception at AAPA conference.

    • Develop and manage the nomination and selection process for the LBGT Caucus PA of the Year Award.

    • Research and recommend LGBTQ+ organizations at the host city for the Host City Award.

  • Communications - Chair: Madeline Zeichner
    • Develop and distribute timely communications to members, ensuring the Caucus' digital presence is regularly updated across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. 

    • Design and publish a quarterly newsletter for the Caucus membership.

    • Record meeting minutes as needed in the absence of the VA. 

  • Diversity - Chair: Eugene Rodolfa 
    • Promote and advocate for diverse representation within the Caucus including racial, ethnic, cultural, gender, sexual orientation, and age diversity.

    • Collaborate with other AAPA Caucuses focused on diversity, including PALH, and AHPAC, PAs for Asian Health to foster CO inclusion.

  • Education - Co-Chairs: Elijah Salzer & Shani Wilson
    • Plan and implement educational programming focused on LGBTQ+ Health topics for members and students.

    • Oversee requests for Speaker requests and interact with the Speaker bureau

    • Prepare and submit applications for AAPA CME credit approval.

    • Support the coordination and execution of the annual LGBT Health Awareness Week CME series.

  • Finance -  Co-Chairs: Cooper Couch & Luna Noel
    • Oversee and monitor the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Treasurer to ensure alignment with the strategic plan and fiduciary responsibilities. 

    • Review and approve reimbursements, expenditures, and financial requests in accordance with Caucus policies.

  • Membership & Development - Co-Chair: Cooper Couch & Adhana McCarthy
    • Develop strategies to retain and engage current members while expanding overall membership. 

    • Promote the organization through member engagement initiatives, giveaways, and branded merchandise. 

  • Policy & Government Affairs - Chair: Whitney Hewitt
    • Advocate for public health educating policymakers on evidence-based and ethical LGBTQ+ health issues. 

    • Monitor and communicate relevant national policy developments to keep members informed and improve patient care.

    • Collaborate closely with the Chief Delegate to the HOD.

    • Draft and cosponsor resolutions or policies for submission to the AAPA HOD.

  • Student Leader Fellowship - Co-Chairs: Casey Messer & Luna Noel
    • Mange the application and selection process for the SLF Award, presenting finalist to the BOD. 

    • Support student fellows during the AAPA Student Reception and their project presentation

    • Provider mentorship and guidance of the SLFs in completing their leadership projects
